If there is an NCAA Tournament, Rutgers will be in it.
That is the take delivered inside the Lindy’s Sports 2020-21 national college basketball preview magazine, which NJ Advance Media recently reviewed. The only way the Scarlet Knights do not end their 30-year drought, according to the outlet, is if the coronavirus pandemic prevents the Big Dance from being played for a second straight season.

Rutgers won’t stick around very long when it gets to the tournament, though. Lindy’s projects the Scarlet Knights will be one-and-done as an at-large team out of the loaded Big Ten.
Lindy’s quick breakdown of the Scarlet Knights, who it ranked No. 33 in its preseason top-40:
Good news: The Big Ten’s most relentless team retains seven of its top eight players.
Bad news: Not sneaking up on anyone, gotta win away from the RAC.
Our call: The only thing stopping an NCAA bid is COVID-19.
Lindy’s predicts Rutgers will finish sixth in the 14-team Big Ten. The magazine picks Wisconsin to win the conference title, followed by Iowa, Illinois, Michigan State and Ohio State in second-through fifth place, respectively.
